I am changing my blog from a scrappy place to a place for me to remember and journal about the loss of my daughter.

Daniella was born Decemeber 4 2010 and we lost her July 8, 2011. Since her birthdate this month I have been reliving each day as it happened 12 months ago.

A year ago today, the 28th, was the day we finally brought her home from the hospital. Since her birth she had been in one.

She was born on Dec 4th at Renown Hospital in Reno, NV at 7:46pm. after 20hrs of labor. The afternoon of the 5th Dr. Ludwick came to do what we thought was a courtesy or percatonary echocardogram (sonogram of her heart) because of Dustin's VSD when he was born. during that test I learned the fate of our little girl. She has Hypoplatsic left heart syndrome, in short the left side of her heart was to small to function. This saved her from passing away sooner then she did. After this echo and a discussion with the Dr. she was taken down to ICU to await transport to Sunrise Children's hospital In Las Vegas. she was transported late on the 5th. Marty and I could not leave with her and were forced to wait 2 more days to be with her again. She was going to have to undergo surgery to keep the Ductus Artery open and band the Pulmonary arterys. These prodcures were neccessary to keep her alive. She under went those procdures and on Christmas Eve she was transfered back to Renown in Reno and Marty and I drove back that day. Christmaas day we drove to Fortuna, Ca to pick up the other children, who have been with my parents since the 6th. It was so great to see them again, expecially on Christmas. On the 26th we drove back with the 3 kids, had our troubles along the way, but finally made it to Reno. I went back to the hospital on the 27th after being apart from her again for 3 days. But the Doctors and Nurses had her eating, which was the goal for her to be able to go home. I arrived back at the hospital on the 28th and was told she could finally come home to us. We were so excited. Chris hadn't even seen her yet. 24 days after her birth she was coming home. It was snowing and we had a bad tire. After picking her up we had to go to the other side of town to pick up Rx for her. It was a scary drive in the slushy snow and a car that still wasn't running right. Had a few problems at the Rx but finally again got what we needed and went home. It was a releif to have everyone home.

I feel that this is the perfect place to release how I am feeling. I was using facebook but not everyne wants to hear/read my problems/struggles everyday. I don't think many people, if any will even read this. But it will be one of my releases.

Well yesterday was Cali's 12th birthday. Unfortunely it was uneventful. Things have been rough but we just keep plugging away. Still no camera so I don't have any pictures to share. I am going to try and hook the scanner/printer up to Cali's school computer to see if I can get it to work there. It would be nice to post the few scrappy things I have done.

Marty have a sinus surgery last month. Everything went well and he has healed nicely. Starting to sing again. Through the kindness of strangers he was given a CDG player and can record again. I will post some of the new songs as soon as I figure out how to do that.

The newest Rexford is due to be here on Dec. 5th. Excited to have a new little one coming, but stressed for how to get the things that we need, including a bigger place to live. I can't wait to get back to work and hopefully make life a little easier and take care of the things that have been put off for so long.

NSD

Well today is National Scrapbook Day and I have no plans. Part from poor planning and part from not having the extra funds to particapate in any local store events. That is part of what is hard living so far away from my scrappy friends, I can't make an NSD event of my own like I have in the past. Part of me wants to move back to the hometown and the other doesn't want to be that permantately close again. So I will be celebrating NSD by watching my record TV programs from the week. Everyone else have a great time.

I would like to thank Denise Illes at Crop Til U Drop Retreats. She alouded me to join some out of town friends at the Sparks Retreat at the Nugget. I had a great time, visited with some friends and got a jump back into scrapping. A total of 12 LOs finished in a total of 10hrs.

I finally feel like I am getting back into the groove. I made 10 ATCs today - 8 are like these, 2 others are with a bird. I have a few more things that I want to get done. Hoping tomorrow I can do more.

I finally found a program to stitch the scans of my LOs. Please excuse the difference in coloring. That is due to that fact that the pages may not be flat and scan with ashadow. Hope you enjoy.

These pages are from a kit I got years ago from a friend who got it from and club called Scrap Jammies. I don't think they are around any more though.

Nothing new

Well I have failed at my resoulution to blog more often! Most of the reasoning behind that is because there is nothing new to say. Each day is just like the last. I am hoping to get a cheap camera soon and I can post some pictures of the kids and our apartment. As for new scrap projects - there hasn't been anything new.

The New Year

Happy New Year everyone. We have made it back to Reno and have turned around and come back. We forgot Cali in Fortuna, not really, but she did stay and visit with family and friends. So today I am at my mom's. Debating wether to leave to go home to Reno tonight, kids will sleep, or tomorrow, when kids will be awake for the 9 he drive. Such choices.

Well, in any which way the kids and I will be going to Jenni's for dinner. I want to thank my mom for the great dinner last night and the comfort of home for the last couple of days.

To Raven, thanks for the wonderful laughs and good food on New Year's Eve. It was nice to spend some time with you. I hope that I don't have to wait soo long to see you again.

I hope this new year brings a new start to everyone. I want everyone to have good health and joy.

Hoildays

Well we have made it over the hills, through the woods, and snow to be with family for the hoildays. It was a long trip. Snowing heavily over HWY 44, Dustin got car sick and a lot of "are we there yet?" and "How much longer?" questions. The older kids are hooking up with old friends. In fact , Cali will be staying with a friend for an extended visit.
I hope everyone has a good and safe hoilday.

I made a important dates calendar to give to two special people. These are pics. of the headers.
Unfortunatley, the way I had to cut and paste them doesn't give them true justice. But I do believe that the receivers will enjoy them. This calendar is good year after year. Just add the names on the dates as needed.

Cali's report card

She has a great report card, as always. Isn't it funny how teachers always think our children are great or maybe it is just that they have dual personalities and keep the better part for the teachers. We just realized today that her school is a year round. Not that it matters much to her because she will graduate to middle school in June. We are definitely changing school with Chris. I think it would help with the summertime boredom. 45 days of school then 15 days off. It will be weird having Cali home and Chris going to school the first week of January.

I hope every one is dong well.

Resloution

Well, I have decided to try and post here a few times a week. I don't have any followers at this time, but I think I need to keep myself sane.

At this time in my life I am living in Reno, NV. Marty (husband) and I moved our family here from Fortuna, CA. We moved to try something new and start off fresh again. I am still looking for a job, but in the mean time, I am also enjoying being home with Dustin. I am trying to cherish each moment, because I know he is growing up fast. He misses the socialization of daycare, so as soon as I get a job he can go. Marty has been singing up a storm at one of the local casinos. I am glad that he has something that he enjoys. Cali and Chris are enjoying school and the new friends that they have made. In that last week we have had about 2ft of snow. The kids have had a ball playing in the fluffy white stuff.

I am going to go and create something scrappy! I will post a sample as soon as I finish.

This is a card that I made for a swap in Storytellers Scrapbook Club.

I used Chatterbox patterned paper, Prima flowers, Making Memories brads,and the branch is a stamp from Stampin' Up.
